¡Celebremos el cuatro de Julio!

Let’s celebrate the 4th of July in Spanish!

The 4th of July commemorates el día de la independencia (independence day) for all Americans. Considering that a large percentage of Americans speak Spanish and have hispanic roots, this holiday is also celebrated in Spanish throughout the country.

The process of independence was long, but 4th of July marks the date when the independence of the United States from Great Britain was finally acknowledged. Today, this holiday is full of great festivities.

Parades, marching bands, picnics, and baseball games are only a few of the many manifestations of patriotism Americans bring out to commemorate this special date. The majority of these traditions are seen throughout the day, and at night, the sky gets covered by colorful and luminous fireworks that highlight the red, white, and blue in the American flag.
