Are you a fan of celebrity gossip and Spanish people? So am I! The world of artists is wildly entertaining; there’s always something to talk about! The Latin American and Spanish people on TV and in movies are gorgeous and fascinating. We’ll find out who they are, what they’ve done, and some interesting facts about their lives! Let’s get to it!
Spanish and Latin Celebrities
For starters, being glamorous not only means being physically attractive, it also means being beautiful and kind on the inside. Check out the following Spanish people who are current TV and movie stars!
Diego Luna
This Mexican actor and director was born in 1979. His first roles were in Mexican cinema, but in 2000 he made a leap to Hollywood with the movie Before Night Falls. Now, he has participated in more than 15 Hollywood productions. In total, he’s acted in 42 movies and produced 11. Diego has also acted in three plays. Some of his most famous movies include:
- Y tu mamá también (2001)
- The Terminal (2004)
- My Name is Harvey Milk (2008)
- Elysium (2013)
- Blood Father (2016)
- Rogue One: Star Wars (2016)
Diego’s ability to grow as an actor has amazed his fans around the world. He is now being cast in movies with high-level actors and directors like Matt Damon, Mel Gibson, and Steven Spielberg. However, he left Hollywood, saying that he felt the need to somehow help his native country. He didn’t want his children to grow up with an absent dad who didn’t care about the problems in Mexico, so he decided to focus his energy on Mexican projects, such as shooting the Netflix series Narcos (which has been a huge success this year). Of Hollywood, Diego says that “if they really need me, they’ll come to me.” So, who knows? This actor might surprise us once again by appearing in a Hollywood film.
Eugenio Derbez
This actor, comedian, producer, writer, and film and theater director is most recognized as a humorist and creator of comic characters for television programs. Eugenio Derbez was born in 1961 in Mexico, and by age 12 he was already an extra on Mexican TV shows. In 1980, he began his acting lessons and studied film production and direction.
Eugenio acted in telenovelas from 1980 to 1992, and in 1993 he worked on the TV program Al derecho y al derbez, which was the actual beginning of his career as a television comedian. He appeared in Derbez en cuando, XHDRBZ and La familia P. Luche, three Mexican TV shows. Later, he acted in American films, such as Un chihuahua de Beverly Hills (2008), No se aceptan devoluciones (2013)—one of his most popular movies which I highly recommend—and How to Be a Latin Lover (2017). Also, he gives voice to Spanish-dubbed characters such as Donkey in Shrek, Lucky in Dr. Dolittle, and Mushu in Mulan.
Eugenio embodies the fun-loving energy of Latinx. Plus, he’s hilarious and knows how to make you laugh even on your saddest days! He’s currently filming Deshecho en casa, a reality show about his family and how they’re living during quarantine.
Diego Boneta
Diego Boneta is one of the most guapo Latino actors who steals every girl’s heart in his performances. He was born in 1990 in Mexico City and became an actor when he was 12 years old. He landed a role on the famous Mexican TV show Rebelde when he was 15. That same year, 2005, he debuted as a singer and presented his first song in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, and the United States. At age 21, he achieved what many actors have dreamed of their entire lives: acting in Hollywood. He got the chance to participate in shows like 90210, Pretty Little Liars, and Underemployed, and then in movies like Rock of Ages with high level actors like Tom Cruise and Jullianne Hough and Mean Girls 2.
In 2017, Diego was challenged to do the Luis Miguel series on Netflix. This changed his life because he didn’t know if he was going to be capable of doing it. Playing Luis Miguel meant getting to know everything about this Mexican singer’s life, his songs, and even his “dark side”. He’s one of the most popular singers in Mexico and Latin America, so playing his role in a show about his life was kind of a big deal. However, after a lot of hard work Diego surpassed everyone’s expectations and became the new Luis Miguel. He actually needed to change his voice in order to sound like the real Luis Miguel, so it took him around a year to do so.
Diego’s absolute charm has enchanted all the girls that see him perform. And, guess what? He’s single! In other words, he’s the most eligible bachelor in Latin America (and probably in the world)!
Luis Gerardo Méndez
Luis Gerardo Méndez is a Mexican actor who was born in 1982. In 2003 he debuted on television in a supporting role on Ladrón de corazones. His first appearance on the big screen was in the film Santos Peregrinos in 2004, and in 2006 he participated in two other films: La niña en la Piedra and Efectos Secundarios. His career continued to grow as Luis took on different roles, such as the ones in Lola and La otra familia. In 2013 he played“Javi” in the movie Nosotros los Nobles. In 2014, he appeared in Cantinflas, a biopic of the Mexican comedy legend. Luis was on the Netflix series Club de Cuervos (2015-2017), co-starred in the play Privacy with Diego Luna, ventured into Hollywood as a producer in 2019, and starred in Adam Sandler’s original Netflix movie Mystery on Board. Pretty impressive!
Luis Gerardo has a personality that captivates the public. He’s funny and attractive., His great attitude makes you enjoy his performance and makes you want to get to know him!
Edgar Ramírez
Edgar Ramirez was born in 1977 and is an internationally recognized Venezuelan film and television actor. He is the winner of a César Award and an ALMA Award and has been nominated multiple times for the Golden Globe, the Actors Guild Awards, and Emmy Awards, among others. In 2003, he achieved fame in his country as the character of Cacique, in the telenovela, Cosita Rica. He also acted in the movies Yotama se va volando and Punto y Raya. This last one was nominated for an Oscar in 2004. In 2005, he worked on the Hollywood Film Dominio, and The Bourne Ultimatum in 2007 alongside Matt Damon. His other films include Vintage Point, Ché el Argentino, and Carlos El Chacal, for which he was nominated for Golden Globe Awards and a SAG Award.
Edgar also acted in the 2012 Oscar-winning movie Zero Dark Thirty, in which he played a rude soldier in 2012. That same year he acted in Wrath of The Titans with Liam Neeson, Sam Worthington, and Ralph Fiennes. In 2015, he co-starred with Jennifer Lawrence in Joy, and in 2016 he acted with Robert de Niro in Hands of Stone. He’s currently working on the series The Undoing, and I’m sure he will definitely amaze us with another big role soon.
Edgar isn’t only hot, he also has great talent! Even though he usually plays “the bad boy,”, that’s what makes him so attractive! He’s come a long way in the film industry, and we Latinx and Spanish People are excited to see his future projects!
Sofía Vergara
This Colombian actress was born in 1972 and was discovered by a talent scout on a Colombian Caribbean beach. She made a commercial for Pepsi which was successful in Colombia and helped her become an advertising and fashion model. Then, she moved to Miami and signed an exclusivity contract with Univisión, where she presented in the programs Fuera de serie and A que no te atreves.
Interestingly, Sofia didn’t get any important roles until she dyed her hair brown. She was a natural blonde but people weren’t looking for that, so with darker hair, her Latin accent, and a lot of attitude, she began to make a name for herself. Later, she worked on different movies such as Chasing Papi, Soul Plane, The 24th Hour, Pledge This, and Four Brothers, as well as on the comedy Hot Properties, and the TV show The Knights of Prosperity. However, she triumphed worldwide with the Modern Family series, where she plays the character Gloria Delgado. Also, she’s currently a judge on America’s Got Talent and has earned the public’s heart.

In 2002, Salma starred in Frida , and in 2004 she co-starred with James Franco in Ultra Violet. Due to this last role, Ester has become one of the most popular actresses and is recognized as one of the prettiest ones, too. She loves to upload videos of herself singing along to a song or dancing sensually (but not inappropriately) on her social media pages. Most people say she’s a goddess.
