50+ Spanish Teaching Resources for Motivated Educators

Are you a Spanish teacher in need of high quality Spanish teaching resources for your lessons?

You’ll find them here! In this post, I’ll discuss the meaning of being a Spanish teacher these days, how to make the most of the web’s huge diversity of resources, and introduce you to over 50 Spanish teaching resources that will take your Spanish lessons to the next level.

What Does it Mean to be a Spanish Teacher These Days?

In the ancient, pre-internet times, being a Spanish teacher meant a completely different thing than it means today. Usually, a Spanish teacher would follow a textbook and a workbook strictly page by page, and use other materials to enrich their lessons from time to time.

Being a language teacher in pre-pandemic times was also different from how it is today. The lockdown made homeschooling and video classes a necessity that arrived to stay. So, what does it mean to be a Spanish teacher these days?

As a Spanish teacher myself, I assure you that it’s both a blessing and a challenge. A blessing, due to the bountiful resources available for free or at affordable rates on the web. And a challenge, because it’s hard to choose the right materials and find the best program or curriculum to follow.

It’s the same conundrum faced by everyone in society today. How can we make the most of all this information available to us?

Making the Most of the Huge Diversity of Web Resources

As a teacher, it’s easy to get lost in the vast amount of Spanish teaching resources available on the web. In my experience, the best way to make the most of them and keep your class well-organized is two-fold.

First, find a program, a curriculum, from a renowned institution or organization, and follow it in your classes. Sometimes it’s hard to decide what to teach next, so just stay on the course designed by a reputable source.

Secondly, from the diversity of web resources available choose your top 5 and come back to them again and again. Then, only if you can’t find material for the specific topic of your next class, go and look in some other “secondary” resources previously selected for this situation.

I know that it’s tempting to keep always looking for a better option, “been there, done that,” but that’s when a Spanish teacher gets lost in the immensity of the internet. So, just trust your choices and stick with them.
