Basic Body Parts in Spanish
The human body is amazing! When children learn how to label specific body parts in Spanish, they can have more meaningful conversations about their bodies.
The body is divided into three major sections:
- head – la cabeza
- trunk or torso – el tronco, el torso
- extremities – las extremidades
Head (La cabeza)
La cabeza (the head) consists of el craneo (skull) and la cara (face).
In the head are the sense organs: eyes, nose, skin, tongue, and ears (Spanish vocabulary is in the table below).
Inside the skull is el cerebro (brain), el cerebelo (cerebellum) and el bulbo raquideo (medulla oblongata) which control your movements, biological needs, and emotions.

The torso is also home to the stomach and intestines, glands, kidneys, bladder and the reproductive system.

Learn Spanish Through Interesting Topics
Learning about the body parts in Spanish and English is fundamental for the development and education of our children. Teach them through memorable topics like science experiments or the wonders of the world to make your lessons stick.
Spanish is a primary subject that most students begin studying when in elementary school. When they reach high school, they’ll find that Spanish is available as both an Advanced Placement (AP) test, as well as an SAT II subject test. While it’s certainly possible to memorize the exam material and do well, it’s infinitely easier when they enter the course with a strong knowledge of the language. Learning to speak Spanish at an early age can make these courses less stressful, more enjoyable, and ultimately, more rewarding.
