1. Brainscape

Brainscape was developed by scientists from Yale and Columbia. The app uses a system called intelligent cumulative exposure that consists of introducing new concepts slowly and steadily depending on your progress so that you can remember new words.

It offers over 14,000 flashcards divided into 128 decks, and it syncs between the website and the app. The flashcards include audio and teach words and sentence constructions. It can guide you to learn your first Spanish words if you’re a beginner or help you become fluent with easy-to-understand grammar lessons.

This app is free and offers in-app purchases. It’s available for iOS or Android.

Simply click “translate” to see the other side of the flashcard to find the English or Spanish side. If you’re more advanced, stick to the Spanish side.
