Listening to color songs in Spanish is a fun and easy way to set your student on the path to Spanish proficiency!

Keep reading for tips on learning Spanish by listening to music. Plus, I’ve compiled a curated list of the best color songs in Spanish!

How Listening to Color Songs in Spanish Improves Proficiency

Music is more than a simple pastime! It significantly improves your student’s Spanish proficiency. By listening to color songs in Spanish, children may practice memorization, pronunciation, and more!

Memorization

Have you ever gotten a song stuck in your head? While this can sometimes be annoying, it also makes music a highly effective learning tool! Listening to music is an amazing way to learn a second language.

Songs are catchy and have memorable rhymes. Singing new words actually makes them easier to remember. Did you learn the alphabet song as a child? Listening to a color song in Spanish works the same way!

Tone, rhythm, and cadence all work together to help with memorization. This makes it easier for students to learn some elements of a song rather than memorize them all independently.

Pronunciation

When your student sings a color song in Spanish, they improve their pronunciation by mimicking the sounds and tones. This helps them sound more natural.

Catchy songs can get stuck in their head and they’ll find themselves repeating the lyrics over and over again. This constant repetition is a great way for your student to get a feel for better pronunciation.

Many language learners find pronunciation challenging, but listening to a simple color song in Spanish makes it easy!

Sound Like a Native Speaker

Listening to a color song in Spanish will not only improve your student’s vocabulary, but also their idiom knowledge. Most songs use colloquial words and expressions that you can’t get from a textbook!

Listening to Spanish music, like a color song in Spanish, exposes your student to how native speakers talk.

Have Fun Practicing Spanish

Learning Spanish requires consistent practice. The more they use the language, the sooner they will pick it up.

Music makes it easy to continuously be in touch with Spanish. Your student can listen to a song in Spanish anywhere!  When studying, playing sports, or even doing chores, your student can hum a color song in Spanish to themselves or play it on a speaker.

Give your student a set of headphones and let them enjoy the following Spanish tunes!

20 Color Songs in Spanish

Now that you know why music can take your student’s Spanish to the next level, it’s time to practice! Pick a color song in Spanish to set your student on the path to proficiency.

1. Canción de los colores

This first song on the list is completely in Spanish! It’s a great way to get your student used to hearing the language. You can let them use these translated lyrics as well.

Todas las cosas tienen
Colores
Azul el cielo amarillo el sol
Rojo si dibujo un corazón
Colores
Lápices de a montones
Colores
Verdes los sapos cantores
Colores
Violeta como las flores
Y que hay tantas de tantos colores
Colores
Azul amarillo rojo verde y violeta
Naranja celeste el arco iris nos muestra
Porque todas las cosas tienen
Colores
Todas las cosas tienen
Colores
Azul el cielo amarillo el sol
Rojo si dibujo un corazón
Colores
Lápices de a montones
Colores
Verdes los sapos cantores
Colores
Violeta como las flores
Y que hay tantas de tantos colores
Colores
Azul amarillo rojo verde y violeta
Naranja celeste el arco iris nos muestra
Porque todas las cosas tienen colores

All things have
Colors
Blue sky, yellow sun
Red if I draw a heart
Colors
Pencils by the ton
Colors
Green singing toads
Colors
Violet like the flowers
And that there are so many of so many colors
Colors
Blue, yellow, red, green, and violet
Orange, sky-blue, the rainbow shows us
Because all things have colors
Colors
All things have colors
Colors
Blue sky, yellow sun
Red if I draw a heart
Colors
Pencils by the ton
Colors
Green singing toads
Colors
Purple like the flowers
And that there are so many of so many colors
Colors
Blue, yellow, red, green, and violet
Orange, sky-blue, the rainbow shows us
Because all things have colors
