Story: Waiting isn’t easy (¡Esperar no es fácil!)

This channel has many stories in Spanish for beginner level students. In fact, it has one of the largest lists of read-alouds available. The narrator explains what the phrases mean in Spanish and English. 

In ¡Esperar no es fácil! (Waiting Isn’t Easy), Elefante (Elephant) and Cerdito (Piggy) discuss why waiting is so hard. It’s a great topic for kids to understand patience and responsibility.  

The storyteller acts out the different roles in the story, making it entertaining for kids. It’s perfect for kids to see the book’s illustrations and listen as she reads the story and gives her opinion.

Story: Grandfather (Abuelo)

This is a traditional YouTube book read aloud channel with a variety of Spanish, English, and bilingual books to choose from. Tía Carla (Aunt Carla) reads books from a local library aloud, and it’s easy to follow along with her.  

In this children’s story, we follow El Granjero (The Farmer) around the farm and learn about farm animals and plants. 

7. BookBox Spanish

Age range: 4-11 years old

Story: The Wind and the Sun (El viento y el sol)

YouTube Channel

The original content on this Spanish YouTube channel includes animated books in over 45 languages, including Spanish. BookBox is a great channel with a simple text, organized by reading level. 

In El viento y el sol (The Wind and the Sun), the sun and the wind debate which one is stronger. It’s excellent to learn the elements and spark the kids’ imagination.
