How Productivity Apps Help with Language Learning
Language learning productivity is no different from any other kind of productivity. It requires lots of self-determination, management, and organization skills. It’s easy to lose motivation and give up; it’s also common to get lost due to the abundance of materials available online.
What should you expect then from an app to help you with productivity in Spanish language learning? A high-quality productivity app should help you organize your learning materials, avoid distractions, hook you on the learning process, and highlight when you’re reaching your personal goals.
Let me show you five excellent language productivity apps that meet these requirements.
Top 5 Language Productivity Apps
Here are the five language productivity apps that I consider the most helpful. Download them to your phone and keep your language aspirations alive and kicking!
Anki App is a well-known player on the market among the language productivity apps. The app allows you to create your own flashcards with text, sound, and images—or use sets created by other users.
If you want to download premade flashcards, choose from vocabulary sets adapted for different levels. It’s a stellar app that improves your productivity in language and works for both beginners and advanced learners.
Test your knowledge in quick sessions that last one minute or less. The Anki app also displays your progress after each session and assigns you a grade. It uses the cloud, so you can work on your sets from various devices and your results synchronize.

Anki language productivity tool is available for iOS and Android devices, Mac OS, and Windows. It also works for web clients on Chrome, Safari, and Opera browsers.
This language productivity app is my latest discovery. I love mind maps to organize all types of language content for and with my students, so the Ayoa app is ideal.
Visual learners will surely appreciate this tool. It’s one of the best language learning tools because it helps you organize, retain, and recall information. Use it to create vocabulary lists, organize your Spanish story to retell later in class, and categorize your grammar content. It can even help you remember the structure of a Spanish essay.
Create mind maps from scratch or use ready-made templates. Ayoa is taking the language learning world by storm, and both students and teachers love it. Try their free seven-day trial. It’s not the cheapest app, but I’d say it’s worth the price.
This language productivity and creativity tool is available for iOS and Android devices, Mac OS, and it also works as a web app.
Productivity in language is all about organizing your resources. The Pocket app allows you to combine learning materials (such as article links, language sites, and multimedia) into groups and access them later with a single click. You won’t have to send yourself interesting links anymore or add hundreds of links to your browser favorites.
Divide your resources into, for example, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, podcasts, sample tests, and others. This will save you time and prevent lengthy searching. The best thing is that—in the paid version—Pocket saves your resources to a permanent library even if they’re deleted from the Internet.
Pocket is available for iOS and Android users, as well as for Kobo eReaders and others. You may also use it through the Pocket website with free extensions, which is available on most browsers. What’s interesting about Pocket is that you can access your library from different devices, so if you save something on your computer, you may read it later on your phone, regardless of its operating system.
Habitica language productivity tool keeps you motivated and excited about language learning. This app creates a video-game-like environment and rewards you for using it and meeting your language goals. It’s not only a superb visual helper to track kids’ learning consistency, but also super fun even for adult learners.
The app assigns rewards for good work and punishments if you don’t do your planned task. For example, if you set the goal to use one of the 8 Chat Apps to Practice Speaking Spanish for five minutes and you didn’t, you’d be penalized and your chosen character would suffer consequences in the game. However, if you did, you can upgrade your avatar or unblock new characteristics such as new armor, magical pet, or magical skills.
Habitica is available both for iOS and Android.
The Forest app gives a boost to your language productivity by keeping you away from what distracts you. It temporarily blocks, for example, social media on your phone, tablet, or computer to helping you focus on your language learning.
Have you ever thought that you might learn Spanish and plant trees at the same time?
How often have you promised yourself that you’ll be working on irregular verbs in Spanish and you ended up checking your Instagram account for 20 minutes? The Forest app will give you virtual coins for focusing on your studying and staying away from your phone, that you can change later to plant real trees in five countries in Africa—Cameroon, Kenya, Senegal, Uganda, and Tanzania. And it will shame you if you won’t.
It’s possible to use the app in a group and make everyone accountable. If one of you fails, your tree will die. Download the app for iPhone or Android.
