A Complete Careers List in Spanish

If you’re looking for an A-to-Z careers list in Spanish, you’ve come to the right place! Choosing a career is a monumental choice, so it’s key to be aware of all your options when making that decision. Of course, it’s always possible to cambiar de carrera (change careers).

That’s why I’ve got your back with this careers list in Spanish. It’ll help you on your way to making this major life choice, especially if you’re considering working in a Spanish-speaking country or environment. Even if you plan to work in the United States, an ever increasing number of jobs require Spanish proficiency due to the growing Hispanic population.

Whether you are in the decision-making process or just doing some casual research, knowing how to talk about careers in Spanish is an excellent way to practice your Spanish. Keep reading to access our complete careers list in Spanish!

Masculine and Feminine

In Spanish, most profession nouns change according to the gender of the person they are referring to. The genders of the occupational names in a careers list are usually masculine.

In most cases, we use similar words to refer to a woman or a man. For example, a male doctor is el doctor and a female doctor is la doctora.

However, exceptions to this rule include

  • el/la piloto
  • el/la modelo
  • el/la artista
  • el/la cantante
  • el/la dentista
  • el/la gerente

In these cases, the only part of the word that changes is the article.
