Get ready to laugh, giggle, and chuckle your way to Spanish fluency with the best comedy TV shows of all time!
Why Most People Enjoy Comedy TV Shows
What makes comedy TV shows so appealing?
Science shows that laughing is incredibly good for you—and it makes you feel good too!
When you smile or laugh, your brain automatically releases neuropeptides to help fight off stress. Then other neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin and endorphins come out to play too. The endorphins act as a mild pain reliever, whereas the serotonin is an antidepressant. One study suggests that smiling can help us recover faster from stress and reduce our heart rate!
Feel-good benefits aside, smiling and happiness can actually affect your language performance. A study found that “human happiness has large and positive causal effects on productivity. Positive emotions appear to invigorate human beings, while negative emotions have the opposite effect.” Another study linked decision-making, processing and learning to the release of dopamine triggered by happiness, so laughing can also make you a more effective language learner too!
