How to Homeschool for Free in 2023

Do you know that you can homeschool for free?

Yes, you can!

I know many parents are afraid of moving from a traditional school to homeschooling because of the costs it may involve.

Don’t be! You can homeschool for free kindergarten through high school and provide your child with a first-class education.

The Internet is full of free online homeschool materials and resources that you can use free of charge. With some research, you can find everything you need, including a free secular curriculum and resources for Christian families. In addition, you can find printables and activities for your active pre-schooler and free homeschool programs for high school.

Let me share with you my favorite free homeschool findings.

Free Websites for Homeschooling

Different websites will make it possible for you to homeschool for free. I divided the following section into the ones that provide free information and the ones that offer free printables and materials.

Free Information

1. Homeschool Spanish Academy

Homeschool Spanish Academy is a true powerhouse for information not only about homeschooling but also about learning strategies. You’ll find information on almost everything you might need, from organizing your homeschooling desk to the best textbooks.

2. YouTube

Are you surprised to see YouTube on this list?

If you know how to look, the Internet is full of useful information about homeschooling and lessons you may use for almost any subject. You don’t need to look only for educational channels. There is a video on every topic, and it’s wonderful to learn languages.

3. Teachers Pay Teachers

I don’t know how many teaching sets and activities I have taken from this website.

Teachers Pay Teachers is full of valuable educational material ready to print and ideal to homeschool for free. In addition, you can download individual activities or bundles you can use for units of study, spelling resources, and many more.

There’s, of course, lots of content you’ll need to pay for, but there are also many printables to download for free.

You can find the curriculum pdf with map and pacing for English Language Arts and the curriculum with daily lesson plans.

4. Twinkl

Twinkl is another one of my favorites, especially for teaching languages.

However, you’ll also find materials for almost every subject. There’s lots of content for free, but it’s also worth paying a monthly fee that starts at $5 a month.

5. Education.com

Education.com has an infinite library of materials you can print and use from kindergarten through 8th grade.

You can search by subject, topic, or standard.

Keep in mind that there’s a limit to the materials you can print daily with a free account. But you can always come back the next day!

Lastly, you can enrich your kid’s experience with plenty of cost-free activities that you can do online, at home, or in your local community.

- Karie Ann, Parent of 3

“It’s a great way to learn Spanish, from native Spanish speakers in a 1-on-1 environment. It’s been fairly easy to schedule classes around my daughter’s other classes. The best value for us has been ordering multiple classes at a time. All the instructors have been great!”

– Cindy D, Parent of 3

- Maple, Parent of 3

“HSA offers very affordable, quality, one on one classes with a native speaker. My son has greatly benefited from taking classes. We have seen his confidence increase as well as his pronunciation improve, because he learns from a native Spanish speaker. HSA has quick, personal customer service. I have appreciated the one on one interaction and teaching that my son gets from his teachers. He has gotten to know his teachers, which has increased his confidence in speaking Spanish. Our family has been very pleased with our experience so far!”

– Maple, Parent of 3

- William R, Parent of 3

“My Son, Heath, is taking the classes. He’s been with Luisa the entire time and we absolutely love her. She is always patient and is a great teacher. Heath’s dad speaks Spanish so they get to have little conversations.”

– William R, Parent of 3
