Why Learn Spanish?
If you’re not yet sold on the idea of learning Spanish, I’m here to give you a reason to change your mind.
1. Boost Your Child’s Brain Power
Instilling bilingualism in your child’s life experience improves their cognitive function, fires up their critical thinking skills, and empowers complex problem solving. Research on second language learning finds that learning at an earlier age is ideal. (Still, motivated students can start at any age.)
2. Empower Them for Successful Communication
In 2019, the Hispanic population in the U.S. was more than 60 million. To put that into perspective: approximately one in every 5 people in the country is Latino! Spanish is the second most prominent language in the United States, as well as one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. Thus, español stands out as a super useful language to learn.
3. Ensure Your Child’s Future is Full of Opportunities
By learning Spanish, you can improve your employability (or your child’s future job prospects). What’s more, developing Spanish skills allows you to travel and experience Latin American culture in a meaningful way.

Select Your Online Spanish Class
As a parent, you have a slew of choices for online Spanish classes, yet few offer live, in-person Spanish tutoring. Instead, the majority involve pre-recorded or automated lessons your child can click through. Yet learning becomes more dynamic when students have a real teacher to interact with.
Immersion style learning is a natural and instinctive approach. Students who learn in this way have more confidence in their new language and be able to converse with new people using basic Spanish.
Even better, it means your son or daughter will really speak the language, rather than merely learn a random smattering of words and phrases. In other words, he or she will become truly bilingual.

Learn about our method: How Do HSA’s Native Spanish Teachers Teach Me Spanish?
To make sure you feel confident about choosing us as your source for native Spanish, we offer you and your child a free trial class that you can schedule to take at any time.
What’s a Free Trial Class Like at HSA?
HSA strives to make the experience of learning Spanish fun, relevant, and highly impactful for each student. Our teachers deliver online Spanish classes for kids in a way that makes using Spanish in real life natural and engaging!
A typical HSA class begins as the teacher reviews the previous lesson to ensure your student is progressing. But that will not be the case for a free trial class since it’s the first of many classes to come!
What’s Special About the Free Trial Class
1. Fun and Friendly Introductions
Your free session starts with a brief personal introduction to break the ice and make everyone feel more comfortable and excited. At this moment, your student meets and greets the Spanish teacher while you (the parent) observe (and participate, if you’d like!).
2. Split-second Assessment and Interactive Spanish Lesson
Your friendly, certified profesor or profesora will then dive into introducing new Spanish words and concepts. If your child is a brand-new beginner, the trial class will start with a simple lesson on colors and fruits.
On the other hand, if your student already has a basis in Spanish, the teacher will quickly assess their level and tailor the lesson accordingly.
3. Praise, Excitement, and Confidence-building
The teacher encourages the student to repeat words and practice pronunciation. He or she offers plenty of enthusiastic praise throughout the class. Visual images help with understanding, and the teacher shares his or her screen with the student for this purpose.
4. One-on-one Conversation
The bulk of the 25-minute lesson is the core time spent teaching and explaining the new concepts tailored to help your student grow. With the remaining time, the teacher engages the student in conversation applying the lesson concepts.
What’s Next After the Free Trial Class?
If you’re like thousands of our Spanish students, you and your student will love the free trial class and seek to continue studying Spanish at HSA.
In that case—just as he or she does at the end of each subsequent class—your teacher will make notes for the next class, generating ideas and strategies to ensure your student succeeds.
They’ll also schedule periodic meetings with you (the parent) to talk about your child’s progress in Spanish. We understand how essential it is to receive feedback on how much and how fast your student is improving.
