Let me share with you some bulletin board ideas for your Spanish classes that are flexible and easily adaptable. The first four sections are seasonally themed and the last section includes “other” ideas that you can use at any time.
Fall Bulletin Board Ideas
1. Summer is Gone
Go through Spanish summer vocabulary and have your students share their vacation photos. Ask them to put short captions or longer descriptions depending on their level.
2. Otoño – Autumn
To pre-teach autumn vocabulary, decorate your bulletin board with a huge cardboard tree with colorful, autumn-falling leaves. Use the opportunity to teach colors or write new Spanish words for your students learn through the season on each leaf.

3. El regreso a clases – Back to School
It’s a typical “welcome Xth graders board” to use in different ways. Display your students’ photos and ask them to pick one adjective that describes them. Post the classroom rules and display Spanish vocabulary and phrases they will need in each class.
4. El mes nacional de la herencia hispana – National Hispanic Heritage Month
Many Spanish-speaking countries celebrate their independence during the period from September 15 to October 15. Also, El Día de la Raza (Columbus Day) falls on October 12. Use the opportunity to share cultural content and show appreciation for Hispanic heritage in Latin America.
5. El día de los muertos – Day of the Dead

The similarities between the Day of the Dead and Halloween can’t be denied, but it’s more interesting to teach your students ways in which the two festivities are different.

Although it’s not a typical Spanish festivity, Thanksgiving is gradually gaining more popularity. Display pictures with vocabulary and share typical recipes in Spanish.
